Nonspecific October Summations

I guess I've been up to a lot since the last time I really posted on this thing. I've had many heated opinions about which I have intended - intended! - to write, and several Life Things that are very interesting and exciting to me, but which will inevitably turn into self-indulgent navel-gazing if I bring it up in this particular space. That's what the paper journal is for.

Then again, I still haven't really cemented a "purpose" for this blog, so maybe I can write whatever I feel like. But in the interest of maintaining a generally public space that I might eventually narrow into something with a more professional purpose, I'd rather veer more on the side of discretion and relevance to people beyond myself.

I'm getting good feedback at work, and that's good. I have more ideas than I can deal with in a 40 hour work week. Nothing's perfect, especially given The Woes Of The Industry, but I'm having a blast and usually turning out stories that feel worth my hourly wage and medical benefits.

my advanced english teachers lesson got a good dose of The Woes of the Newspaper Industry as a conversation topic. i was all curious if the koreans had similar problems or thoughts. no such luck. apparently all the paps work for the government. anyway! in case you were curious about the state of korean journalists. (ha. probs not.)
