I walked into Google and forgot what I was doing there

There’s a seabird that can fly days at a time before it lands (reports vary from 4 days to a week). Frigate bird, man-o-war bird. It cannot land on water because then it will not be able to take off, it will become heavy with water, waterlogged, waterful. It lacks the necessary oils. Long wings are mandatory for such flight. Empty bones. It raids other creatures’ households, their larders, their cradles. It screams "metaphor" very loudly in raucous tones.

“Pelagic” is one of the most beautiful science words of all time. Another thing we owe the Greeks.
