I forgot to blog yesterday. Nothing interesting to say, so no matter.

Science is awesome. Here is some science. A biologist found some amphibious caterpillars in Hawaii. Tons of them. Caterpillars that can breathe air and breathe water! A likely and logical adaptation to an environment with frequent rainfall! The first truly amphibious insects, at least as far as Science knows! Why haven't they been found before? Says biologist Daniel Rubinoff, he does not know. “It’s almost like (other scientists) closed their eyes when they crossed the streams,” he said. I'm giving these caterpillars extra Awesome points because they become butterflies and moths, creature of water --> creature of air.

Since I'm enjoying self-centered remarks on the things I do when I am more oriented toward Writing than I am toward Other Things, here is something I do: I'm ignoring a lot of my Google Reader feeds and other web site browsing, e.g. current events e.g. webcomics, but keeping poetry blogs front and center. The only other information I'm really trying to consume is science news and visual arts blogs. These are sources of "inspiration."
